CALUMET - Elma "Willie" Kauppi, passed away at PortagePointe in Hancock on Sept. 3, 2012.
She was born in Calumet on Nov. 12, 1919. She married Arne Kauppi who passed away in 1988.
She lived a full, productive life and was dedicated to spreading the good news of the kingdom as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a very energetic person for many years, raising a family and running her own business as a massage therapist.
Willie is survived by three daughters: Sandra (Frank) Lopez of Tucson, Ariz., Diane (Louis) Pagliaro of Charlotte, N.C. and Sue Borga of Winterhaven, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to all in the congregation who provided comfort and aid during these last few years. Thank you to the staff of PortagePointe and to Dr. Anderson.
Willie's memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, corner of U.S. 41 and Paavola Rd., north of Hancock on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. Tim Machnik will officiate.
