ATLANTIC MINE - On Friday, the Pine Mountain Music Festival is hosting a party and auction fundraiser at Brownstone Hall in Atlantic Mine, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. All are invited. Guests will enjoy savories and sweets, along with wine and punch. White Water will provide music for dancing. There will be live and silent auctions plus door prizes.
Auction items include a two-night package for two at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, an "Explore Keweenaw" hiking package with Charles Eshbach for up to four people including pasties from Toni's, an Isle Royale Queen package for two plus overnight stay and breakfast for two at Dapple Gray Bed & Breakfast, dinner for four (featuring Maine lobster shipped live) prepared by Chef Ryan Couch of the Miscowaubik Club, an opportunity to be a dog sled trainer for a day with Jerry Trudell and "The Sharks Came Racing" sled dog team, a night at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge with a kayak excursion from the Keweenaw Adventure Company and other must-have items.
Pine Mountain Music Festival produces opera and classical music in June-July each year in Dickinson County, the Marquette area and the Keweenaw Peninsula. "We are celebrating our successful 22nd season with a party," says PMMF executive director, Sandra Lewin. "We invite the community to join us for a fun evening of good food and wine and excellent entertainment." She added, "We also want to thank the many businesses and individuals who generously donated auction items."
