BRUCE CROSSING - Wayne R. Jousma, 83, of Bruce Crossing, died on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at his home.
He was born July 4, 1929, in Caledonia, son of the late Rex and Naomi (Isaacs) Jousma.
He married Goldie Mudget on June 21, 1958, in Wayland.
Wayne and Goldie moved to the Upper Peninsula where they farmed north of Bruce Crossing for over 40 years and owned the Gold Way Bar in South Range for 10 years. Goldie preceded him in death on Nov. 20, 2010.
Wayne loved farming, tinkering and going to auctions.
He is survived by nine sons: Bruce (Dawn) of Appleton, Wis., Wayne, Jr. (Tammy) of Ontonagon, Pete (Wanda) of Bruce Crossing, Rob (Patty) of Ewen, Ben of Ontonagon, Phil and Paul of Bruce Crossing, Tom of Buffalo, N.Y. and Joe of Caledonia; a daughter-in-law, Joann of Bruce Crossing; 31 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter (Nancy) and Warren (Marbel; three sisters, Carol Cox, MaryEllen (Dan) Rudnik and Beverly (Allen) VanDenberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charlie in 2011.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. EDT in the Wandersee Funeral Home in Bruce Crossing.
Interment and committal service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at the Gold Way Farm north of Bruce Crossing with pastor Skip Pullen officiating. Lunch will follow at Twilley's in Bruce Crossing.
