To the editor:
I've had the pleasure of hearing State Representative Matt Huuki, R-Atlantic Mine, speak publicly several times this year and, each time, I was impressed with the commitment and passion he puts into trying to bring job producing businesses (mining, logging, manufacturing and high-tech industries) into our area.
He has a keen sense of how vibrant communities are created; when private sector businesses are created and expanded, and employment opportunities are plentiful for citizens of the community. He understands that wealth isn't created by government funding, derived from taxing citizens or by government borrowing more and more money, but by expanding the private sector through free enterprise and capitalism.
Matt has also worked to pass education reform legislation insuring that ineffective teachers are not permanently tenured and allowed to permanently hinder the education experience of students. He knows that a good education can only be realized if good teachers are rewarded and ineffective ones are weeded out.
We are truly fortunate to have a state representative like Matt Huuki, who is working to bring jobs to our community and a quality education to our students.
Matt's efforts to bring us jobs can only succeed if the anti-business Democrats are voted out of the Presidency and Congress and replaced by their Republican political opponents. Therefore, it is essential that everyone vote for Republican candidates on election day.
