Raymond C. Spooner III

MOHAWK - Raymond C. Spooner III, 46, a resident of Mohawk, passed away at his home Monday, Sept. 17, 2012.

He was born on May 20, 1966, in Detroit, a son of Raymond, Jr. and LeeAnn Spooner. Raymond graduated from John Glenn High School in Bay City, Mich.

He spent most of his adult life on the Great Lakes ore boats working for American Steamship Co. Currently, he worked for the National Park Service on the Ranger III.

Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Raymond Jr. and LeeAnn.

He is survived by his sister, Lauren (Michael) Maniak of Southgate, Mich.; his brother, Patrick (MengQi Hu) Spooner of Nanjing, China; three nieces and two great-nieces; and a fiance, Tracy Zurich of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, in the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Copper Country Humane Society in memory of Raymond Spooner III.
