To the editor:
On July 30, our son was involved in a serious car accident on U.S. 41 by the Houghton County Memorial Airport.
Since the accident, we have been reminded what it means to be a part of a community, let alone a family.
We wish we could mention everyone specifically but we still to this day have no idea how many people played a part of this miraculous day. From moments after the accident when "Good Samaritans" stopped to help our seriously injured son, to all the emergency personnel who responded to the call, to Portage Health's fine emergency staff and to our understanding employers, family, friends and acquaintances who gave us the support and prayers we needed to get through a very difficult time, we know we live in a special place.
A lot of people are responsible for Adam's survival, let alone his recovery from the injuries he received. He is doing remarkably well, considering what he has gone through. To everyone involved, we must say "thank you," and we really can't say it enough.
Adam continues to do well and refuses to let anything get him down, which is his style, so his recovery has been very quick. We continue to take one day at a time with his recovery as we keep in mind all the wonderful people we have supporting our family.
