Successful Brewfest

September 22, 2012
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

Thanks to all who played a part in the success of the Third Annual Keweenaw Brewfest.

The many people and businesses of the greater Keweenaw community made generous donations, provided services in-kind and volunteered their time to make this third Keweenaw Brewfest a great success. Without everyone who participated, it could not have happened. The event brought together more than 1,200 people from our region on a truly spectacular afternoon to sample more than 100 different beers from more than 35 different breweries. Fantastic food was provided by: Pilgrim River Steakhouse, Carmelita's, Rock House Grille and Portage Health Food Service.

Please patronize and thank the food providers mentioned above and the sponsors listed below for their support:

Boodie Creek; Coca Cola; Ambassador Restaurant; Ameriprise Financial; Book Concern; Rukkila-Negro, CPAs; City of Hancock; City of Houghton; Copper Country Cubes; Copper Country Ford; Continental Fire Co.; Crown Cleaners; The Daily Mining Gazette; Dollar Bay Linoleum and Tile; Douglass/Remax-Ginger Stroube; Douglass Agency/Remax; Douglas House Saloon; Edward Jones-Calumet; Edward Jones-East Hancock; Edward Jones-Hancock; 5th and Elm Coffee House; Favorites T-Shirts; Hairsmiths Salon; Endres Machining; Hanke Auto Body; Houghton Power Sports; Keweenaw Automotive; Keweenaw Brewing Company; Kissel Chevrolet; Kirkish Furniture; LJJ Construction; Library Brew Pub; U.P. Marketing Department; McCabe Distributing; McGann Building Supply; Michigan Tech Employees Federal Credit Union; Mike Lahti Properties; MTM Contracting; OHM; Pat's/Festival Foods; Penegor Lumber; Peterlin Distributing; Pisani Distributing; Quincy's Restaurant; Retirement Solutions; Shelden Grill; Shipping Shop; Stone Reflections; Super 8 Motel; Superior Block; Superior Rent-All/Sales; Surplus Outlet; Thermoanalytics; Up and Running; Wickley Agency; 97.7 WOLV-FM Radio; Mix 93 WKMJ-FM and WLUC TV6.

I want to especially thank the Keweenaw Community Foundation board members and the Brewfest staff-volunteers. More than 80 of them gave up the entire day to set up, serve our customers and then clean up. They are simply the best.
