Marguerite “Margie” Parolini

ONKALO'S CORNER - Marguerite Parolini, 81, a resident of Onkalo's Corner, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock after a long illness.

Margie was born October 3, 1930, in South Range, daughter of Joseph and Antoinette (Stimac) Romano,

She was married to James Peter Parolini on May 1, 1948. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1998.

Margie was a homemaker and loved visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed bingo and playing cards and made an awesome Texas sheet cake.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in South Range.

Surviving are three daughters, Carole (Samuel) Morello of Whitmore Lake, Mich., Gina (Tom) Kernen of Rubicon, Wis., and JoAnne Parolini of Onkalo's Corner; a grandson, Dane Parolini of Onkalo's Corner; a brother, William (Delores) Romano of Houghton; two sisters, Barbara (Romano) Hiltunen of Southfield, Mich., and Ann Marie Romano of Florida; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, Margie was also preceded in death by a son, James Joseph Parolini, in 2000.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, in the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range with Fr. John Martignon as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Friday in the mortuary. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in South Range.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice in Marquerite's name.
