CHASSELL - Brian J. Komula, 49, a resident of Chassell, died in his home Sept. 27, 2012.
He was born January 3, 1963, in Hancock, a son of the late Paul and Mildred (Yrjana) Komula.
Brian graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1981 and later attended Gogebic Community College where he received an Associate of Applied Science degree in 1997.
Brian entered into the United States Army in 1983, was stationed in Ft. Sill, Okla., and was honorably discharged in 1991.
From 1992 to 1995, he worked at Copper Range Co. in White Pine. He also worked for a short time in Hutchinson, Minn., and upon returning to Michigan, worked in Bessemer as an electrician. He then worked as a service technician at Oscar W. Larson Co. in Sault Ste. Marie and prior to retiring, did maintenance work in the Blackjack Ski area.
Brian enjoyed reading and doing carpentry work.
He is survived by two daughters, Nichole Adams and Danielle Komula; two grandchildren, Katherine and Nathaniel Adams; three brothers, Mark, Roger and Paul Komula; one sister, Lynn Landen; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Brian was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce and Gary.
It was Brian's wish to be cremated with no memorial services.
