To the editor:
Our nation needs a President Romney to recover economically and regain civility amongst our people and between the political parties. (President) Obama was going to unify this country and many had high hopes for his presidency.
However, for much of the past four years, Obama has resorted to confrontational actions and divisive statements such as "We don't mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they have to sit in back." Do these words come from one who is interested in healing our divided nation and leading us back to economic prosperity? No, and Obama has continued to blame the previous administration rather than move us forward. Unfortunately, Obama has failed to fulfill his promises, our expectations and the United States has suffered and we remain a divided and economically slumped nation.
Look to Romney as a proven and successful business leader; he has shown his leadership abilities with his rescue and management of the 2002 Winter Olympics. Further, he served as a moderate Republican governor in the democratic state of Massachusetts, where he demonstrated his cooperative nature to reach across the aisle and work together in a bipartisan manner.
In Massachusetts, he helped eliminate an impending $3 billion deficit through spending cuts, increased fees and the closure of corporate tax loopholes.
In this same collaborative and conciliatory manner, President Romney will rebuild the United States and we will believe in America into the future.
