GREEN BAY, Wis. - Former Michigan Tech football player Drew Vanderlin (Green Bay, Wis./Southwest) was signed to the Green Bay Packers practice squad Wednesday, according to an announcement by Packers Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Vanderlin took part in the Packers' rookie orientation camp last May after graduating from Michigan Tech with a degree in exercise science last December.

After falling short of getting a training camp invite, Vanderlin took a position as a strength and defensive line coach at Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The 6-3, 288-pound defensive end finished his collegiate career at No. 2 on Tech's all-time sacks chart with 20. He was a two-time All-GLIAC First Team selection.

Vanderlin will wear jersey No. 97 with the Packers.
