Amanda Louise (William) Metsa

BALTIC - Amanda Louise (William) Metsa, 77, a resident of the Baltic-Onkalo's Corner Rd., died on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at Omega House following a one-and-a-half year courageous battle with cancer.

She was born August 2, 1935 in Humbolt, TN, a daughter of the late Archie and Mary Frances (Branham) Terry and attended school in Dyersburg, TN.

Amanda met her husband, William Metsa, in Chicago, IL and they were married on July 30, 1979.

Amanda worked numerous jobs as a waitress and cook.

She was a member of Ranger Post 6165 VFW Ladies Auxiliary in South Range. Amanda enjoyed the outdoors. She loved animals and enjoyed spending time fishing, camping, working in her flower gardens, doing needlework and crocheting.

Surviving are her husband, William of Baltic; two daughters, Joyce Perry and Debby Moody; two sons, Kenneth Moody and Barry Moody, all of the Dyersburg, TN area.; several grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; four brothers, Buddy, Dwight, Jimmy and Billy Terry; four sisters, Anita, Pat, Dianne and Jean, all of the St. Louis, MO area; her mother-in-law, Agnes Metsa, a resident of The Bluffs, Houghton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Dr. James Brodeur of Dollar Bay, Kathy and Dan Finni of Chassell, Judy and Dave Brown of Walnut Creek, CA, Jim and Denise Metsa of Denver, CO and Mary and Mike Cox of Ft. Wayne, IN; numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Amanda was also preceded in death by two children, Jeffrey and Rusty; a sister, Sue; and her father-in-law, Paul Metsa.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 in the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range, with Pastor Chuck Bylkas to officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
