HOUGHTON - Houghton senior Blaire Zenner was named the Player of the Year among WestPAC volleyball players after voting taken this week.
Undefeated league champion Calumet placed three players on the league's first team: senior setter Kayleen Anderson, senior libero Terra Erkkila and sophomore middle Ellen Twardzik.
Joining her teammate among the league's best was Houghton's Natalie Datto, a senior setter, while Katelyn Anderson, a senior outside hitter from Hancock, and Emilie Christensen, a senior middle from West Iron, rounded out the first team.
The all-league second team included two Gremlins and two Copper Kings. Representing Calumet were outside hitters Kristy Lasanen (a senior) and Lexie Rowe (a sophomore). Houghton senior libero Mackenzie Hietala also made the cut, as did teammate Elisa Jurmu, a junior middle. The second team also included Hancock junior libero Jen Hannon and L'Anse junior middle Valerie Rajala.
Local honorable mentions went to: Nicole Anderson and Lily Williams of Hancock, Heather McCarthy of L'Anse and Bronwyn Nettell of Houghton.
