HANCOCK?- Gov. Rick Snyder will be in the Upper Peninsula to host a live/interactive town hall meeting on the six statewide ballot proposals at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. The meeting is being broadcast to four sites across the region.
Locally, the town hall session will be hosted at the Copper Country Intermediate School District on 809 Hecla St. in Hancock. State Rep. Matt Huuki, R-Atlantic Mine, will be on site as the moderator.
The governor's U.P. stop is one of several he is making as part of a statewide bus tour designed to engage dialogue on the proposals that will appear on the Michigan ballot for the upcoming general election Nov. 6.
The governor's other town hall sites will be in Marquette, Escanaba and Iron Mountain - all at the same time. While he will be physically present on the campus of Northern Michigan University in Marquette, NMU will host the live/interactive satellite session in town hall locations to provide greater opportunity for U.P. residents to participate and receive answers to their questions directly from the governor. These satellite town hall locations will also spotlight new and efficient opportunities to improve communication across the state.
