To the editor:
The board and members of the Community Coalition on Grief and Bereavement would like to thank all who helped make the four seminars on Healthy Aging a success. More than 90 Keweenaw residents attended and learned about the physician-patient relationship, hospice care, funeral planning and financial planning for the end of life.
Thanks go to The Portage Lake Library for the use of their conference room, to Chris for setting up the room for us and to The Daily Mining Gazette and radio stations for the publicity, Thanks also to Marja Salani, Bonnie Johnson, Barb Kendall and Sara Baratono for introducing the presenters and bringing the refreshments. Marianne Berghefer deserves a special thanks for designing our posters and handouts.
Thanks also to our presenters, Dr. Thomas McConnon, Ray Weglarz R.N., Neil Ahola, Mark Dennis, Jeff Dennis, funeral directors and Roger Helman, J.D., CFP. They all gave outstanding presentations and we all wished we had time to hear even more important information.
