SEAFORD, Va. - Pearl Elizabeth Rivord, 70, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2012.
She was born in Newport News and was a 1959 graduate of York High School. She lived on the Peninsula until 1962 when she moved to Michigan and resided there until 1990 when she came back to the Peninsula.
Pearl was a volunteer at Zion United Methodist Church and had served as Head of Acolytes, Ushers and Communion Preparation. She was also a member of the Stevens Ministry and the membership council.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Emily Welsh; and a grandchild.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Clyde Rivord; two sons, Jerry (Barb) Coffey of Newport News and Scott (Libbie) Olsen of Mich.; three daughters, Tammy (Daniel) Nutini of Hancock, Sherry (Robert) Brey of Hancock and Lori (Leonard) Dominguis of Sacramento, Calif.; three sisters, Joyce McCranie of Summerfield, N.C., Joan White of Seaford and Sandra Morris of Carrolton; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Zion United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wed. from 7 to 8 p.m. in Amory Funeral Home in Grafton, Va.
