HOUGHTON - The Kiwanis Club of the Copper Country will hold its annual Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Houghton Elementary School.
The event is one of the major fundraisers for the club, which provides community service to the Copper Country. Projects include building wheelchair/walking ramps for the mobility-impaired, helping to restore historic artifacts in the region, and providing books for local students through the Reading is Fundamental program.
The breakfast includes Aunt Penny's homemade buttermilk pancakes, strawberry topping, pork sausage, fruit cup and beverage. Members of Key Club, the high school service group affiliated with Kiwanis, will host a bake sale. Tickets are available at the door or from any Kiwanis Club of the Copper Country member for a $5 donation; children 5 and under are admitted free. For more information, visit coppercountrykiwanis.org
