NEGAUNEE - Sheila C. Kump, 65, of Negaunee, died at 5:55 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at her home with her loving family at her side and under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice.
Sheila was born May 31, 1947, in Calumet to Gerald and Nancy (Tervo) Nordstrom and graduated from Calumet High School, Class of 1966.
She married Gery Lee Kump on Aug. 20, 1966. Sheila was self-employed as a private duty health care aide.
Surviving are her daughter, Carlene (Frank Mihelac) Kump of Ishpeming; son, John (Cindy) Kump of Fairbanks, Alaska; four grandchildren whom she loved so very much: Aleena, Emilly and Dylan Mihelac and Eli Kump; two sisters, Carman (Bob) Buzzo of Kearsarge and Nancy (Mike) Stevens of Lake Linden; a brother, Gerald "Sonny" Nordstrom of Allouez; her special boy, Jerzee Karki; her two dogs, Meista and Tank; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gery on June 10, 1991; an infant daughter, Robin; one sister, Shelby Erickson; brother-in-law, Ron Erickson; two nephews, Ron Erickson, Jr. and Jeremy Nordstrom; a sister-in-law, Donna Nordstrom.
To all who knew and loved her, she was either Grama Sheila or Auntie Bip. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank her special friends who have been so kind: Marcia and Chuch Gudegast, Nancy Fosco, Al and Karen Basto and Tina Nardi.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday in the Koski Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas E. Mater officiating. Interment will be in the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 p.m. until the time of services in the funeral home on Monday.
