HOUGHTON - Family Video is collecting DVDs so military members stationed in combat zones can better enjoy their down time.
The Houghton store, as well as the more than 750 others nationwide, are in the middle of their annual November drive to send 1 million movies to soldiers overseas.
"It's been successful for the past couple years, but we'd definitely like to up that as much possible," said Zachary Schafer, manager-in-training at Family Video.
People can either drop off movies they have at home or purchase movies from the store for $2. So far, more than 350 movies have been donated, Schafer said.
"I think it's great," he said. "It's amazing that such a large company doesn't forget the people who are serving our country and doing something for us. It's just a little way they can give back, to be able to give them some kind of entertainment over there."
