BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Several local players received honors from the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association last week.
Chief among them are three who received honorable mention all-state status to go with all-region recognition: Calumet senior Terra Erkkila and Lake Linden-Hubbell seniors Mandy Perreault and Brittni Kisul in Class D.
Many others also received recognition within the region, which spans the western Upper Peninsula. They are: Katelyn Anderson and Jen Hannon of Hancock; Kayleen Anderson, Kristy Lasanen, Lexie Rowe and Ellen Twardzik of Calumet; Natalie Datto, Mackenzie Hietala, Elisa Jurmu and Blaire Zenner of Houghton in Class C.
In Class D, all-region players include: Ciara Larson of LL-H and Rebecca Larson and Brittany Nieskes of Baraga.
