CALUMET - Edward Paul Kaifesh, 69, a resident of Rockland St., Calumet, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2012.
He was born Apr. 22, 1943, in Calumet, a son of Lawrence and Mary (Ozanich) Kaifesh. He graduated from Calumet High School, Class of 1960. Upon graduation, Edward enlisted in the US Army.
After serving four years, he lived in Chicago and made his career as a sheet metal worker.
In 2003, he returned to Calumet to make his home.
Edward enjoyed golf, hockey, football, gambling and horse racing.
He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy and Mary; two brothers, Steve and Matt; one nephew, Robert.
Edward is survived by four sisters, Rose (Larry) Monacelli of Warren, Mich., Ann (Bob) Lumley of Maramar, Fla., Barb (Cliff) Junttonen of Oneco, Mich. and Elizabeth (Ken) Malette of Elburn, Ill.; three brothers, Rudy (Maryann) Kaifesh of West Allis, Wis., Laurence (Tina) Kaifesh of Westmont, Ill. and Josept Kaifesh of Chesterton, Ind.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 28 in the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet with Deacon Art Stancher to officiate.
Friends may call in the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon.
