EAGLE HARBOR - Laura Anderson, 65, a resident of Eagle Harbor, passed away at her home Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, following a short illness.

She was born Mar. 31, 1947, in Flint, Mich., a daughter of the late Leonard and Maxine (Sommers) Labod. She graduated from St. Agnes Catholic School in Flint in 1965.

On Aug. 27, 1966, she was married to Gerald "Jake" Anderson at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Flint.

Laura was employed as a bookkeeper for H&R Block and co-owned 7th Street Gas Station and Bear Den Cabin in Copper Harbor.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Copper Harbor.

Surviving are her husband, Gerald "Jake"; three daughters, Shelly (Heath) Miller of Flint, Shari (Mike) Fox of Flint and Shawni Cherubini of Flint; seven grandchildren, Jake Breanna, Cheyenne, Brendan, Sierra, Noah and Seth; a great-grandson, Brody; three sisters, Lynn Ann (Joe) Beach, Mary Beth Labod and Judy Labod LaFalce; three brothers, Leonard "Red" (Patti) Labod, Donald (Vicki) Labod and William (Wendy) Labod.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ahmeek with Fr. Abraham Mupparathara to officiate. Burial will be in the Copper Harbor Cemetery.

At Laura's request, there will be no public visitation.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be given to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church or Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church, P.O. Box 546, Calumet, MI 49913.
