ASHLAND, Wis. - Ewen-Trout Creek's high-flying offense was brought forcefully down to earth Tuesday, as Drummond, Wis. downed the Panthers 52-37 in a non-conference game played at Northland College.
Senior guard Dillon Gordon, who had averaged 37 points in E-TC's first two games, was held to a modest 19 with three 3-pointers and no other Panther had more than four.
Drummond, which reached the Wisconsin Division 5 semifinals last season, had E-TC in trouble early, outscoring the Panthers 24-9 after a period. E-TC closed to within five at the half, but recorded just 15 second-half points as the Lumberjacks cut E-TC's record to 2-1.
Ben Best led Drummond with 11 points.
E-TC faces another Wisconsin team, Hurley, at home tonight.

WATERSMEET - The Nimrods got their offense in gear first Monday and came away with their first win of the season.
Neither side had a great half to begin with, as the hosts led just 16-13 at the break. However, Watersmeet piled up 25 points in the third quarter to pull away by 20 and roll into the finish.
Dylan Huckstaedt led Baraga (0-2) with 10 points, while Marcus Bain's 18 paced the 1-2 Nimrods, who shot 44 free throws to the Vikings' seven.
Baraga returns to the floor Dec. 18 for a trip to L'Anse.
