MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Florence Evelyn Rosberg was born Aug. 15, 1928, and died on Dec. 10, 2012, at Saint Olive's Nursing Home in Minneapolis.
Florence was born in Hancock, the daughter of John Lindgren and Signe (Wiideman) Lindgren and grew up in Toivola on a small farm. She graduated from Hancock High School in 1947 and moved to Duluth, Minn. where she attended the local university and worked part-time.
In Duluth, Florence met and married James Rosberg and they had three children, Debbie, Jim and Sherri.
Florence moved with her three children to southern Calif. in 1964. She supported her family by working as a proof operator at various banks in North Hollywood and the Toluca Lake area. It was while working full-time that she achieved her AA degree in Music in 1986 and also received her real estate license.
Upon retirement, Florence moved to northern Calif. where she helped raise her two grandchildren, Clarissa and Brittney Powell. Eventually she moved to Minneapolis with her daughter, Sherri.
Florence loved her children and grandchildren. She was an avid hiker, lover of the great outdoors, animal lover, art, science, children and all things musical and was a life-long student.
Florence is survived by her children, Debbie Powell, Jim Rosberg and Sherri Rosberg; grandchildren, Clarissa and Brittney Powell; and her siblings, Jane Simpson, John Lindgren, Ted Lindgren and Gary Lindgren.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bob and Rodney Lindgren.
Florence's memorial will be postponed.
