James S. Adams, Jr.

CALUMET - James S. Adams, Jr., 74, of Calumet, passed away on Dec. 17, 2012, at the Omega House in Houghton.

He was born on Aug. 8, 1938, in Painesdale, a son of James, Sr. and Vera (Peters) Adams.

He attended the Washington School in Calumet and graduated from Calumet High School in 1957.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1959. He worked for C&H Mining, Gundlach, Northern Hardwoods, and Calumet High School, retiring in 1999.

He was married to Claire Mitchel in 1986. She passed away in 2010.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Calumet, the South Range Eagles, Laurium Senior Citizens and American Legion Post 90.

He enjoyed spending coffee time with all his friends at Lindell's.

The family wishes to thank Ed Beiring for all his help and support and the staff at Aspirus Keweenaw along with the staff at the Omega House.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Claire; and two brothers, Bill and John.

He is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Brouillette and Veralyn (Richard) Rolain; along with several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

At Jim's request, there will be no public funeral services. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
