Genevieve Gierke and Karl Romanowicz IV

CHASSELL - Genevieve Gierke and Karl Romanowicz IV were united in marriage on June 16, 2012, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Chassell. A reception followed at the Chassell Centennial Park.

The bride is the daughter of Lynn and John Gierke of Chassell. Genevieve is a graduate of Houghton High School, class of 2008, and a 2012 graduate of Michigan Technological University in biomedical engineering.

The groom is the son of Marie and Karl Romanowicz III of Florence, Wis. Karl is a graduate of Florence High School, class of 2005, a 2010 graduate of Michigan Tech in applied ecology, and currently pursuing his graduate degree, class of 2013.

The maid of honor was Hannah Kass-Aten, friend of the bride, and best man was Rhen Hoehn, friend of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Krystle Romanowicz, sister of the groom, Jaimee Lofquist, Coleen Huling, and Kylin Hoehn, friends of the bride. Groomsmen were Chris Romanowicz, brother of the groom, Mike Gierke, brother of the bride, Tom LeFevre, and Tony Matthys, friends of the groom. Ushers were Patrick Koski, friend of the groom, and Justin Slis, friend of the bride.

The couple honeymooned in Scotland.
