LIVONIA, MI - Ronald P. Laakso, 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Livonia on Sat., Dec. 15, 2012.
Ron was born in Detroit on May 31, 1943, son of Aulis O. Laakso and Katri D. (Ryynanen) Laakso. He attended school in Houghton, graduating from Houghton High School in 1961.
Ron was employed by Detroit Diesel in Redford, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ed Laakso; his niece, Elizabeth Bekkala.
He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Julie) Laakso of Howell, Mich., Brian Laakso of Brighton, Mich. Kevin (Shannon) Laakso of Brighton; his daughters, Sharyn (Greg) Tormanen of Howell and Terri Laakso of Raleigh, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; a brother, John (Karen) Laakso of Canton, Ga.; two sisters, Sarah (John) Bekkala of Chassell and Mary Parske of Kasilof, Alaska; many nieces and nephews.
At Ron's request, there will be no funeral service.
