HANCOCK - Connie J. Briggs, 54, a resident of Quincy Haven, Hancock, died at her home early Tuesday morning, Jan. 1, 2013, following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 23, 1958 in Marquette, a daughter of the late Clarence and Barbara (Lemieux) Just and attended school in Harvey and Marquette.
On Nov. 23, 1975, she was married to Robert Briggs in Marquette.
Connie resided in Sheboygan, Wis. for a period of time where she owned a daycare center and a pet shop. When she moved to this area, she relocated her pet shop to Hancock, which she operated under the name, Pets-R-Us.
Connie attended Mass at Church of the Resurrection.
She enjoyed animals and gardening.
Surviving are her husband, Robert of Hancock; one son, Alan Briggs of Calumet, and his fiancee, Amanda "Mandy" Britten; four brothers and two sisters, Ray Just of Calumet, Cindy Gustafson of Laurium, Robert Just of Hancock, Clarence Just, Jr. (Gina) of Calumet, Christina (Robert) Massicotte of Laurium and Randall Just of Hancock; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in the Jukuri-Antila Funeral Home in Hancock, with Fr. Brian Gerber to officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Monday in the funeral home. Spring burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
