HOUGHTON - The Keweenaw Family Resource Center's second annual Ring in the New Year event was a success, its director said Saturday.
Between 50 to 75 people came out for the annual fun day at the Nara Nature Center, which included a 4k snowshoe trail, a fun loop and the sledding hill, director Cathy Benda said.
"We had lots of little kids sledding and trying snowshoes for the first time," she said. "What a beautiful day."

Outdoor activities also included a scavenger hunt. Inside the Nara ski chalet, there was facepainting and refreshments with chili and hot chocolate.
The Copper Country Great Start Collaborative also had a booth with information.
"This was festive and a nice way to bring families to the nature trails and the chalet to enjoy outdoor fun," Benda said.
