LAKE LINDEN - Dorothy H. Williams, 93, a former resident of Lake Linden and most recently of PortagePointe in Hancock, passed away early Tuesday morning Jan. 15, 2013, at PortagePointe.
She was born Dec. 3. 1919, in Calumet, a daughter of Dennis and Margaret (Lowe) Harrington. She was a graduate of Calumet High School.
Dorothy lived in Detroit, Tucson, Ariz. and Largo, Fla. for short periods of her life.
On Aug. 22, 1942, Dorothy married Walter "Buster" Williams in Detroit.
Dorothy was a member of the Community Church in Calumet. She was active in their Ladies Society and often served as a Sunday School teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her five sisters, Cresence, Lyle, Marion, Helen and Margaret; one brother, Lowe; a son, David; a grandson, Mickey; and daughter-in-law, M.M.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (Carole) Williams of Pelkie and Thomas (Marilyn) Williams of Hillsboro, Ore.; two daughters, Peggy (Don) Niemela of Bootjack and Patty (John Finger) Timmons of Laurium; six grandchildren, Penny (Al) Marchionda, Bob (Angie) Williams, Tanya (Jaye) Williams, Hilary (Aaron) Fezzey, Pam (Jim) Reynolds, Luke (Michelle) Timmons, Jeff (Megan) Finger and Erin (Jim) Bowen; 12 great-grandchildren: Samantha, Rocco, Nathan, Ayden, Claudia, Aubrey, Lainey, Alex, Will, Jon, Matthew and Grace.
Funeral services will be held in the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 with Pastor Bob White to officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
