Finlandia men lose at Lake Forest

January 19, 2013
The Daily Mining Gazette

HANCOCK - The defensive zone issues continued for the Finlandia men's hockey team Friday night as the Lions lost 4-2 at MCHA opponent Lake Forest.

FU gave up 53 shots on net - with Jordan Marr (four goals) saving 41 before Troy Chandler came on in relief to stop eight - and only managed 19 in return.

Despite the discrepancy, Finlandia kept the score either tied or within one goal until Lake Forest's Ian Pichel managed to put some separation between the two with less than 15 minutes to go in the game.

Sean Burke and Justin Scott both tallied for the Lions, who stuggled to go 0-5 on the power play.

The loss drops FU to 3-13 overall with a 3-8 MCHA mark.
