Louise M. Pomroy

LAKE LINDEN - Louise M. Pomroy, 95, a resident of Lake Linden, passed away on Jan. 19, 2013, at Our Lady of Mercy in Hubbell, after a short illness.

She was born May 26, 1917, in Bootjack, a daughter of Joseph and Delima Rose Fountaine. She attended St. Ann's Academy in Lake Linden.

Louise was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden. She loved birds, flowers and crocheting.

She was married to Matthew Pomroy on June 21, 1941. He passed away June 9, 1992. Also preceding her in death were her parents and numerous brothers and sisters.

She is survived by three children: Linda MacDonald, Dave (Mary) Pomroy and Betty (Ron) Parker; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Wehrie.

The family of Louise Pomroy wishes to thank Fr. Dobrzenski, Fr. Gerber and everyone at St. Joseph Catholic Church, as well as the staff at Aspirus Keweenaw and the staff at Our Lady of Mercy.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Brian Gerber to officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a parish prayer service at 7:30. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
