Houghton swimmers down Ishpeming-Negaunee

NEGAUNEE - Houghton finished the regular season Monday by swimming to twin victories over Ishpeming-Negaunee.

The boys won 91-73 and the girls 126-54.

On the girls' side, Houghton won eight individual events and two of three relays.

Ashley Betts swept the sprints, taking the 50 free in 29.03 seconds and the 100 in 1:04.84.

For the boys, Daniel Shonnard was a double winner in the sprints, taking the 50 free in 23.68 and 100 in 51.37.

Armando Moyyad touched the wall first in the 200 individual medley in a time of 2:21.10, then added the 100 fly with a 1:02.09.

U.P. Finals are Feb. 16 at Marquette Senior High School.
