EWEN - Ewen-Trout Creek held Lake Linden-Hubbell to just two fourth-quarter points and grabbed the 37-33 girls' basketball victory Tuesday night.
The lockdown effort helped E-TC (12-6) overturn a narrow 31-29 LL-H lead after three quarters.
"Just doing the same thing they've always done, talking and making sure they were switching and rotating on defense," E-TC coach Jacky Besonen said.
The Panthers got 12 points from Sam Robl and a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds from Brittany Suomumaki.
"When we attacked the basket, that worked for us. We were either able to get fouls or find somebody who was open," Besonen said.
Brooke Corrigan had a pair of three-pointers and a team-high 12 points for the Lakes (6-9), who won the JV game and play at rival Dollar Bay Thursday.
E-TC is off until Feb. 21, when it, too, is at Dollar Bay.
