WESTLAND - Andrew John Henry, 68, a resident of Westland, Mich., passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Oakwood-Annapolis Hospital.
He was born Dec. 7, 1944 in Orchard Lake, Mich., to Orvil George Henry and Vera G. (Palmateer) Henry.
As a child he attended Southfield Public Schools and went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Communications at Wayne State University.
Andrew served active duty in the United States Army from 1965 to 1969 and in the Army Reserves until 1984. He was later employed by the Ford Motor Company as a Traffic Analyst. He retired in 2002.
Andrew enjoyed golfing, fishing, frequent trips to the Upper Peninsula for vacations and family get-togethers, and spending time with his two favorite dogs, Arnie and Storm.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Orvil and Vera Henry.
Andrew is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Gloria E. (Karinen) Henry; two children, Kerstin Henry and Andrew Justin Henry; two brothers, Orville "Hank" (Elaine) Henry, Joe (Deborah) Henry; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Vermeulen Funeral Home at 980 North Newburgh Road, Westland, Mich., 48185, located between Ford Road and Cherry Hill Road at the corner of Newburgh and Marquette.
Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Mich.
