PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Thomas M. Curtis, 49, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.
He was born Apr. 25, 1963, in Calumet and moved to Port Charlotte years ago. After graduation from Calumet High School in 1981, he worked for the Water and Environmental Services until impaired by a long term illness.
He attended Charlotte Vo-Tech and was a graduate of Edison Community College.
He was a member of the Community Church in Calumet before moving to Florida where he became a member of St. John the Apostle Church in Fort Myers, Fla.
Thomas was preceded in death by his brother Fortunate Curtis, Jr.
Survivors include his parents, Fortunate and Nathaleen Curtis of Lac La Belle; a brother, Gale (Candy) of Lac La Belle; three sisters, Debbie (Fran) Gariepy of Dollar Bay, Susie (Kurt) Abramson of Calumet and Candy Curtis of AcWorth, Ga. Thomas leaves behind his companion, Mark Playford of Port Charlotte, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services have taken place. Burial followed in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
