HANCOCK - Mark S. Pleimling, 58, a resident of Hancock, and former Dollar Bay resident, died on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Marquette General Hospital.
He was born in Muskegon, Mich., on May 4, 1954, a son of Raymond and Beverly (Shanty) Pleimling and was a graduate of the Muskegon Mona Shores High School.
Mark was employed at Seaway Appliance in Muskegon.
He was first married to the former Mary Sloan. Together they raised three children and eventually parted ways. In 1984, he married the former Cindy Kohl in Muskegon. The couple moved to the area in 1995, residing in Dollar Bay. Cindy passed away in February 2003.
Mark was employed as a maintenance man at Heritage Manor in Houghton, and from 2008 until the fall of 2012, was employed with D&L Janitorial.
In 2006, he was married to the former Doreen Aho.
Mark was a member of the Catholic faith. He loved nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables, especially his tomato plants. He also liked to spend time on the lake fishing and was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers.
Surviving are his wife, Doreen of Hancock; his mother, Beverly Pleimling of Muskegon; a daughter, Michelle Pleimling of Chassell; a son, Bryan (Hector) of Muskegon; seven grandchildren; two brothers, David (Genine) Pleimling of Hancock and Brian Pleimling of Muskegon; two aunts; two nephews and numerous cousins.
Mark was also preceded in death by his father, Raymond; and a son, Robert.
A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Jukuri-Antila Funeral Home in Hancock, with Fr. John Martignon to officiate. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service.
