HANCOCK - Music written by Finnish composers will be sung by the Copper Country Chorale at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Gloria Del Lutheran Church in Hancock.

Carol Waisanen is the director of the choir and the concert and said the concert will have an immigrant theme.

"It focuses on the emotions of the immigrants longing for home and the love of nature," she said.

The songs will mainly be sung in English, but a few will be in Finnish.

Waisanen said her favorite part about the concert is presenting the pieces and having a wonderful experience making music.

Chorale members have been practicing for this concert since January once a week in preparation for the concert.

Waisanen thinks people should come see the show because it's a good chorale group.

"We had a good time practicing and I think the concert will be a delight for everyone who comes," she said.

Soloists include Vicki Usitalo, William Francis, Roger Kieckhafer, Dan Maki, Barb McTaggart, Brandon Veale, David Waisanen and Dean Woodbeck. Instrumental soloists are Aaron Posega on bass guitar, Kay Seppala on flute and Drew Stockero on drums. Kathleen Alatalo-Arten is accompanist.

Tickets for the concert are $7 and are available through chorale members or at the door.

Refreshments will be served after the concert.
