HOUGHTON - Phone service was interrupted Sunday at the Houghton County Sheriff's Office.
At about 3:30 p.m., the department announced it was unable to take incoming calls or make outgoing calls. Residents were advised to call the Negaunee Regional Dispatch Center for non-emergencies or 911 for emergency calls.
Service was restored at about 11:58 p.m. Sunday.
A fiber optic line problem was determined to be the cause of the outage and has since been repaired.
