Alleged kidnapper arraigned

HOUGHTON - A Calumet woman accused of kidnapping her son last year was arraigned in 97th District Court Friday morning.

Christina Gagnon, 32, was arrested in Bollingbrook, Ill., in March. Her son was found in good health.

Gagnon and her boyfriend, Raymond Ojala, Jr., allegedly fled with Gagnon's son on Thanksgiving. Ojala, Jr., 30, of Hubbell, turned himself in in January.

Gagnon entered a not guilty pla on violating probation on a four-year felony charge of larceny in a building.

She is also charged with kidnapping - custodial interference, a felony punishable by a year and a day in prison, and five counts of uttering and publishing, a 14-year felony.

Her preliminary hearing will be held on April 15.
