SYRACUSE, NY - William Reeve Clark, 79, of Syracuse, N.Y., passed away April 18, 2013, at University Hospital. A native of Michigan, he had lived in Syracuse since 1974.
From 1969 to 1973, Dr. Clark was an associate of Dr. Carl Moyer and ran the Moyer Clinic in Baraga. He was a staff surgeon at hospitals in Hancock, Calumet and L'Anse.
Dr. Clark was a professor of surgery in clinical practice at SUNY Upstate Medical University for 20 years. He founded and was director of the Clark Burn Center at University Hospital and worked tirelessly in the community to promote burn prevention and education.
After retiring from UMU, he was employed by the New York State Health Department in the Hospital and Primary Care Program.
He is survived by his wife, Laurie (Smith), formerly of Houghton; four children and five grandchildren: Michael (Carol) Caspary, Jeffrey (Britt) Caspary and their daughter, Poppy, Beth (William) Davis and their children, Sarah and Mia, and Kathryn (Dylan) Dearborn, and their children, Layla and Lucy; a brother, Emory (Christina) Clark; a sister, Carolyn (Gary) Fulcher; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on April 25 in Syracuse, N.Y.
