BUMBLETOWN - Dianne R. Hansen, 67, a resident of Bumbletown Hill passed away at her home with her family by her side on Monday May 13, 2013.

She was born on September 10, 1945, in Grand Rapids, Mich., a daughter of the late Max and Lucille (Starr) Hunting.

Dianne attended Rockford High School until the 11th grade. She then moved to Arizona and graduated from Pioneer High School in 1963.

On July 30, 1983, she was married to Gary Hansen whom she had known since childhood. They married in Rockford, Mich., and honeymooned in Copper Harbor, which led them to move to the Keweenaw in 2002.

Dianne worked as a telephone operator, did some catering, computer work for JC Penney and helped her daughter with her day care business.

She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed baking for her family and friends with an open kitchen to everyone. She also enjoyed camping, working crossword puzzles and being a seamstress.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Women's Aglow Group and the Red Hat Society Thimbleberry Tart Chapter.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a grandson Andrew Colin Hunting Buck.

Surviving are: her husband Gary; two daughters: Bobbie (Patrick) Fike of Trenton, Fla., and Becky (Bruce) Westby of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; son: Nathaniel (Rachel) Hansen of Honolulu, Hawaii; eight grandchildren: Ashley (Tom) Adams of Willmington, N.C., Olivia Fike, Jedidiah Fike, Lourdes Fike, Caleb Westby, Alex Westby, Max Westby and Roselyn Hansen; two great grandchildren: Harper and Corbin Adams; siblings: Mary (Richard) Poe of Nashville, Ind., Karen Conde of Yuma, Ariz., Kim (Aydee) Conde Yuma, Ariz., and Kevin (Chris) Conde Yuba City, Calif.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 15, 2013.

Funeral services and burial will be in lower Michigan.

The Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with arrangements.
