3 injured in L’Anse weekend accident

L'ANSE - At approximately 7:35 p.m. Sunday, troopers from the Calumet State Police Post responded to a motorcycle/car personal injury accident. The accident occurred on U.S. 41 at the intersection of L'Anse Avenue in the Village of L'Anse.

A 59-year-old man from Florence, Wis., was traveling west on U.S. 41 when he collided with a passenger car turning north onto L'Anse Avenue. The car was driven by a 17-year-old Baraga woman.

The driver and passenger of the car as well as the driver of the motorcycle were transported to Baraga County Memorial Hospital by Bay Ambulance. The driver of the motorcycle was later transported to Marquette General Hospital for treatment. The occupants of the car were treated and released. The accident is still under investigation.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Baraga County Sheriff's Department, Keweenaw Bay Tribal Police, L'Anse Fire Department and First Responders, Dynamite Towing and MSP?Advanced Accident Investigators.
