PORTSMOUTH, R.I. -Benjamin "Daniel" Noetzel II, 70, of Martens Road, Portsmouth, R.I., died at home surrounded by his adoring family.
He was the husband of Miriam "Mim" (Haapala) Noetzel for 51 years.
Born in Hancock on September 4, 1942, he was the son of the late Robert Charles Noetzel and Elizabeth (Richard) Noetzel.

Dan enjoyed restoring cars, maintaining his house and beautiful lawn, watching NASCAR, his gadgets ("there must be a remote for that!"), and especially being a good friend and helping anyone in need.
His true love was his wife and daughters. He would beam with pride when his family was together, often just sitting, watching the chaos with love and admiration in his eyes.
"We would like to express with heartfelt sincerity our gratitude to Dr. Scott Keigwin, we will always remember how you cared for Dad with kindness and compassion during his illness. Also, to the Hospice nurses that not only cared for our Dad, but for us as well."
In addition to his wife, Mim, he is survived by his three daughters, Kim (Joe) Souza of Portsmouth, R.I., Tammy Noetzel of Newport, R.I. and Pamela Andrews of Newport, R.I.; his siblings, Roberta Noetzel of Chassell, James (Barbara) Noetzel of Hancock, and Charles (Rachael) Noetzel of Akron, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Bessie Haapala of Hancock and Marjorie (Jack) Turner of Pinellas Park, Fla.; grandchildren, Timothy McKenna, Jared McKenna, Cristalee Andrews, Jessica Andrews, Samantha Silvia, Ryan Dawson, Pamela Souza and Philip Souza; great-grandchildren, Destiney, Sophia, Madison, Kierra, Izsabella, Natalie, Aubrey, Ryan, Jr. and Amaya.
