To the editor:
Over the years, I have noticed, most scoffers that criticize the Bible and Christians have little or no knowledge of the Word of God; they may have read the book, but the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven cannot be understood by unbelievers. (Matthew 13:11-17)
It makes me chuckle when critics quote verses like (Matthew 7:1) I call it: "The eleventh commandment." Or (Luke 14:26); Jesus doesn't want us to hate anyone, read beyond verse twenty six.
And as stated in 5-29-13 LTE, addressing the threat of Hell: "Any god which is as insecure, vain and vindictive as to eternally punish otherwise good and loving people for something as simple as a lack of belief is no god worth worshipping at all." I say: "Tell that to the Judge!" (Hebrews 9:27) (Matthew 12:36-37)
Unbelief is not a simple matter, neither is a sinful nature. Being "good and loving people" is not enough. Jesus said: "You must be born again." (John 3:5-8)
If one studies the whole Bible we can see what a loving God was willing to tolerate, to allow, a fallen mankind, a free will choice to either make Him Lord of their lives or serve other gods and Satan. Personally, if I were God, knowing the future, the game would have ended at the Garden of Eden, but God wanted a family to fellowship with Him. (Genesis 6:5-8)
Jesus is God's final sacrifice to cleanse mankind of their sinful nature. Either we believe in and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior or reject HIm and die the second death: and Hell. (Revelation 21: 7-8) Maybe "good and loving" sinners (unbelievers) will be cast into outer darkness (Matthew 8:10-13) or just separated from God. (Matthew 7:21-23)
Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through Me." (John 14:6) There will be no more blood sacrifice; only judgment.
Before you scoffers criticize God's way; where , where you when God created the universe and everything in it? You don't get to change God's Word, it's His way or your way, choose whom you will serve; today.
P.S. Talking about a wolf hunt, what about a week of Doe hunting? Meat on the cooking grill is far better than mean splattered all over the grill of your car or truck.
