Terry A. Korby

TOMAHAWK, Wis. - Terry A. Korby, 64, of Tomahawk, Wis., passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Golden Living Center - Golden Age.

Terry was born January 5, 1949, in Laurium to the late Melvin and Betty (Anderson) Korby. He was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School in Warren, Mich.

Upon graduation, Terry enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He resided in Lower and Upper Michigan before moving to Wisconsin.

Terry was an over-the-road truck driver and an electrician. He was an accomplished athlete, excelling in swimming and baseball. He loved being in the outdoors where he enjoyed camping and horseshoes. Terry also enjoyed bowling and was a "helping hand" to all his friends and family, whether it be fixing a car or helping on projects around the house. The family cherishes fond memories of the Copper Country.

Terry spent his last days reading his Bible with a local pastor and died trusting his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his dearest friend and caregiver, Joan Jestila of Tomahawk; his wife, Janet Korby of Washington; one son, Terrence Korby of Michigan; three daughters, Charmaine (Albert) Allagreen of Michigan, Kimberly (Phillip) Brotemarkle, of Washington, and Nichole (Dallas) Muma, of Michigan; one brother, Dennis (Rita) Korby, of Michigan, and one sister; Brenda (Richard) Parker, of Michigan; eight grandchildren; Jeffrey, Michael, Christopher, Leigha, Lucas, Sophia, Cayden, and Taylor. Terry is further survived by his grand nieces and nephews; April, Timothy, Hannah and R.J. and also his grand nieces and nephews; and special friend, Sandy, of Michigan.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Betty Korby; one brother, Roger.

A private family funeral will be held at a later date in Michigan.
