LAURIUM - Evelyn T. Paskvan, 84, a resident of Laurium, passed away early Sunday morning June 30, 2013, at the Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.
She was born on October 13, 1928, in Lake Linden, a daughter of Joseph and Eva Des Jardin.
Evelyn attended the St. Joseph Catholic School in Lake Linden and was a graduate of Calumet High School.
She cooked for several years at the Oak Room Town Pump in Calumet. After cooking there, Evelyn began working as an Aide at Stillwaters Assisted Living, now known as Garden View Assisted Living, also in Calumet.
She enjoyed making rag carpets, and crocheting.
On September 18, 1948, Evelyn married Joseph E. Paskvan in the St. Joseph Church in Lake Linden. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Preceding her in death was a sister; Valerie Dulong; brothers-Arsen Des Jardin, Clem Des Jardin, and Burt Des Jardin; daughter Dianne Edwards, and one grandson Christopher Paskvan.
She is survived by; sons; Donald (Catherine) Paskvan of Laurium and Gerard Paskvan of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters; Anita King of Lappeer, Mich., Bettey (James) Cadwell of Roseville, Mich. and Pauline (Louis) Vannicolo of Downingtown, Penn.; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brother; George (Carol) Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Saturday July 6, 2013 with Pastor Kenneth Toth to officiate.
Visitation services will be held from 11 to 2 p.m. on Saturday July 6, 2013, in The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet.
