Elverna Fountaine

TAMARACK CITY - Elverna Fountaine, 84, of Tamarack City, passed away on July 2, 2013 at Portage Hospital.

She was born on September 28, 1928 in Sidnaw, Mich., a daughter of Andrew and Lydia Anderson.

She attended numerous local schools. She worked in the Housekeeping Dept. at Our Lady of Mercy in Hubbell for 28 years. She loved working there and the people she worked with.

Elverna was married to Earl Fountaine, Sr. on June 11, 1949 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Hubbell. He passed away on August 23, 2000.

She became a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden when St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Hubbell closed. She was a member of the VFW Post 4624 Auxilary of Hubbell, American Legion post 90 Aux. of Lake Linden, and the Tamarack City Women's club. Elverna loved to spend time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Earl, Jr.; sister, Florence Anderson; Two brothers, Henry and Andrew Anderson; Two granddaughters, Shirley Dulong and Amanda Puuri.

She is survived by three sons, Gerald of Lake Linden, Ronald (Lynda) of Ripley, Edward (Debra) of Lake Linden; Two daughters, Linda (Tim) Lawless of Tamarack City and Shelly (Tim) Puuri of Liminga; a daughter-in-law, Debra of Lake Linden; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Ann Salsini of Hubbell and many other relatives and friends.

There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, in the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with Fr. Francis Dobrzenski to officiate. Friends may call for an hour before the service at the funeral home.
