Calumet man electrocuted

Scaffolding struck power line

Adams Township - A man from Calumet was killed Tuesday morning while working on a home project in Houghton County's Adams Township. The Houghton County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident in the Brooklyn Location just before 11 a.m. Police said a group of people from the area were volunteering to make repairs to a house. The victim, identified at this time only as a 38 year old male from Calumet, was in the process of setting up scaffolding when he was electrocuted by a nearby power line. Adams Township First Responders along with personnel from Mercy Ambulance arrived on the scene in an attempt to revive the man but were unsuccessful. At this time the victim's name is not being released and the investigation is continuing.
