To the Editor:
Last fall, my mother and sisters contacted people who had adopted pets from K-SNAG, asking them to share updates, recent photos and memories of their pet. The replies were compiled into a memory book which was presented to me on my 60th birthday. I will treasure this thoughtful gift for the rest of my life. When I am feeling discouraged I only have to read the notes from families who are truly enjoying their rescued pets and I will feel better.
I would like to thank my mother, Joyce Messner, my sisters, Linda Sarazin and Jill DuMonthier for all the time and care they put in to creating such an amazing keepsake. I would also like to thank all of the wonderful people who responded with stories and photos of animals that K-SNAG volunteers have rescued and loved.
Thank you for taking the time to write letters, to find pictures and to send cards. I know why you all were lucky enough to get a K-SNAG pet.
It is because you are kind and caring people. I wish everyone could know the joy of seeing a frightened, bedraggled animal blossom and flourish under the care of devoted, responsible owners.
And I wish that everyone could experience the love and caring of a family like mine. I am truly blessed to have you all in my life. Thank you.
